J&C bump

Sunday I had the privilege to take Casey & Jake's maternity photos. They're officially 16 days (give or take) out from a brand new baby :) :) :) and we wanted to get some more shots to add to her weekly bump shots ... and make the maternity session official! I think we accomplished just that. They turned out great!

large M family

Back in December, this entire family was together for Christmas and wanted photos taken while they were all there. This was quite the group, and I laughed the entire time I was with them. Never a dull moment... I saw first hand! My cheeks literally hurt when I left.

They did a great job disguising if they were shy in front of the camera because everyone looked very nice. Here are just a few from that night... we had lots!

H family

This is another session done on one of those last beautiful weekends back in October. I feel like I'm repeating myself but as I sit here looking out the window into the cold and snow-covered ground, I can't help but think of how great that October weather was... anyway, this is a great family we are lucky enough to be good friends with. In fact, Mr Man A and our Miss Drew share birthdays. He's about 12 hours older than she :)

I'm always slightly worried when photographing kids because you just never know. These guys did great and I think we got some good ones. Thanks again H family!



J&C engagement

Six weeks ago we had some absolutely beautiful weather. I was very lucky to have a few photo sessions that final beautiful weekend in October. These turned out so great. I just loved all of them! Thanks so much J & C for letting me enjoy this beautiful morning with you! :)

the beginning!

Let this be the first official post of all things great to come!

I should be keeping track of when I officially started Courtney Smith Photography but of course - I'm not. Let me look back... let's say October 2010. An entire year later, some experience under my belt, and I'm excited for what the new year will bring.

I'll make this first post a short one but I want to make sure to thank those who have helped me the most in this first year...

*  A *huge* thank you to my cousin, Neen, and absolutely wonderful graphic designer. Without her expertise, my logo and everything related would not have happened. I absolutely love all of it!

*  Thank you to my Friend (also a graphic designer) for all the help printing labels and such. Everything turned out so nice :)

*  Thank you sista Casey for all the editing in the beginning (and when I'm swamped) and watermark adding. You've done a great job and I promise to reimburse you with kisses and hugs when I get my MacBook Pro with a 17" screen (she will be mineeee)  ;)

*  Last but definitely not least... to all my family and especially Dave and the kids for being so patient and helpful while I'm away. I most definitely couldn't do this without you! I love you!
